What does it mean to raise your vibrations?

Raising your vibrations can mean a number of things. For me, I’ve learnt that to raise your vibrations means to be in a clearer headspace. When we vibrate higher, we see how things around us completely change.  We throw off positive vibrations that alter how we see the situations we’re in and the people we deal with. But the biggest part of positive vibrations and raising your vibrations is the change in how you see yourself. When you vibrate higher, you value yourself (without arrogance or grandiose feelings). You value your voice and you show yourself self compassion. A great lesson we can also learn is what shifts your vibrations will also shift the vibrations of the things and people around you.

It’s the typical thing when we wake up and we’re just having a good day. We find a car park easily, the person we were trying to reach calls back, the traffic is easy. Everything falls into place! This is when we’re throwing of positive vibrations.

So then the question is how to change your vibration frequency. These are practices that I’ve found life changing and mind changing when it comes to raising your vibrations.


How to raise your vibrations


Practice Meditation

Practicing meditation is a simple way to raise your vibrations.

Connecting to your true self during quiet time is invaluable. The thing with meditation is it’s gotten a big spiritual connotation. Sometimes that can scare people from trying. I know when I sat down to meditate I used to feel a bit silly because I didn’t feel “spiritual” enough.

Meditation is a private space for you to be yourself. Whether you want to listen to music, hum, visualize, that’s completely up to you. It’s a process that has to feel right for you. This is where the shifts in vibration come.

For me, giving myself time to meditate everyday is how I learn to stop and slow down. This generates the most positive vibrations. It helps me to feel more in charge and aligned during my day.

The biggest tip I can offer for meditation to raise your vibrations is to keep searching for a type of meditation that resonates with you. That’s how it worked for me.

Practice focusing on your feelings behind your affirmations

So here’s the thing I’ve learnt about affirmations. If you’re not feelin’ them, they’re not feelin’ you. What’s this mean? This means that to really raise your vibrations and attain those positive vibrations that we’re all looking for, we have to FEEL it first, before trying to affirm it. If our feelings don’t match our words, then our vibes are still low.

I’ve been reading a book suggested by Wayne Dyer called The Power of Awareness by Neville Goddard. He talks about how important feeling is behind manifesting your desires. In a nutshell he says that feeling is the real secret behind manifestation.


“The subconscious is not concerned with the truth or falsity of your feeling. It always accepts as true that which you feel to be true. Feeling is the assent of the subconscious to the truth of that which is declared to be true. Because of this quality of the subconscious there is nothing impossible to man. Whatever the mind of man can conceive and feel as true, the subconscious can and must objectify. Your feelings create the pattern from which your world is fashioned, and a change of feeling is a change of pattern.” – Neville


Instead of just routinely repeating affirmations, try focusing on what it would feel like to be the person you want to be and achieve what you want to achieve. This is key to raising your vibrations with affirmations. A great way to do this is through visualization.

 Use “I Am” Affirmation

A great way to combine meditation, creating feelings behind your affirmations and practicing affirmations is the “I Am” meditation. This simultaneously uses sound meditation too. All of this is the indestructible method to help raise your vibrations and my number one way to create positive vibrations.

The power behind the “I Am” affirmations is that you’re saying that who you want to be is who you already are right now. So there’s no “I will be” or “I want to be”. It’s an empowering mantra when you start to say it!

During my meditation I listen to the music below and practice saying my “I Am” statements. You can add anything to the end of the “I Am” that works for you. Things I practice are “I Am Love”, “I Am Well”, “I Am Complete Health”.



Use Selenite Crystal To Raise Your Vibrations

Crystals are another popular way to raise your vibrations. There’s so many out there though and if you’re a complete beginner like I am, it can be pretty overwhelming.

After a bit of research I found Selenite to be a great crystal to start with for raising your vibrations.

Use High Vibrational Music

If meditation isn’t your thing, another alternative is to listen to music that is made for raising your vibrations. You can listen to it at work, on your way to work, when you workout! It’s the easiest way to create positive vibrations.

From what I’ve read, this music is best listened to with headphones but if you can’t that’s okay! Try listening to it wherever you can.

Manage The Bad Vibrations

Bad vibrations! What does this mean? That means situations and people that stress you out need to be managed too.

Sometimes no matter how much we try to practice positive vibrations and try to vibrate higher, it doesn’t work.

Certain people or situations make it impossible for us. Usually these are the people we feel we have to do deal with even though it takes a toll on our mental health.

Take some time to look at your environment. What situations and people are you allowing in your life that make it harder for you to vibrate higher? What people, no matter how hard you try to make it work, bring you down.

This can be tough work. I’ve done it so I know personally. But I also know that it’s work that needs to be done for raising your vibrations. It’s about valuing ourselves and only allowing into our lives what we can handle.

This might mean only meeting certain people in groups, avoiding certain events. Whatever it is, it has to work for you. Just think about who or what can really bring you down and assess how you can change the situation for yourself.
