3 Easy to Read Fiction Books with Life Changing Messages

I don’t really enjoy fiction to be honest. I’m one of those people that think well if I’m going to spend my time reading, I want to learn something new. Or read about something that’s actually happened. Fiction for me seemed pointless.

I never looked at fiction the same way again when I found these books.

Sure they can also be considered almost self help fiction. But anyways, they’re great reads.

I started to realise that even if fiction wasn’t real. The messages in it were.

So if you love fiction, or you’re like me and thought fiction was a bit of a waste of time – check these out. You’ll definitely have a change of head and heart!

The Alchemist

I heard the name of this book in Macklemores song Growing Up. After checking the rating (4.5/5) on amazon (with over 9,000 reviews) I headed to the library.

Let me put it this way. I read it in a day.

It follows the story about a boy who has a dream about a box of treasure. To find this treasure he goes on a journey to find the place in his dreams.

It’s a book about life. Following your dreams and learning from your lessons. Most of all it’s about intuition and heart.

Tuesdays with Morrie

This book was a gift from a girl I worked with. She loved fiction. She was also a very good friend that knew me very well!

Tuesdays with Morrie is a fiction based on a real story. Mitch was a student of Morries. He left school and found the high life. He had good job and lots of money.

It tells the story of when they reconnected years later and continue their relationship.

Let’s just say it’s a tear jerker. Don’t be like me and decide to read it on a plane. Lucky I had a window seat I managed to push myself in the corner and wipe the tears as they fell. Pretty sure the lady next to me thought I was crazy.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven

After finding out about Mitch Albom I became a bit obsessed. I really liked how he’d written Tuesdays with Morrie and I wanted more! More life lessons in a can’t-put-the-book-down way that only fiction can do.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven was a book based on Mitchs uncles near death experience. He said he saw all his loved ones that had passed waiting for him.

The book is about a guy named Eddie. A bitter war veteran who works at an old amusement park. He dies in a tragic accident at the park on his birthday. And well if I told you the rest it would definitely ruin it!

Again – a tear jerker. So try not to read it on a plane unless you have a window seat and a nice lady next to you who pretends you’re not crying!
